Pick n Pay Rugby Fidget Spinners: all 15 Springbok players, the Coach and how to complete the squad

Updated 5 October 2026 · by the Swappies team

The Pick n Pay Springbok rugby fidget spinners are the collectable of the 2026 rugby season: officially licensed Springbok figures that spin on their arms and kick a mini rugby ball off a tee. The pack says "collect the full 15 player squad" - but at R59.99 a blind pack, finishing it is expensive. Here is the full squad, what each pack holds, and the cheapest way to complete it.

What is a Springbok rugby fidget spinner?

Each figure is a chunky Springbok player in the green and gold jersey, with his arms on a rod like a foosball player. Flick the arms and the whole body spins; stand the mini rugby ball on its kicking tee in front of him and the spin kicks it. Pick n Pay's own slogan on the pack is Spin, Kick, Score. They are sold only at Pick n Pay - in store, online and on Pick n Pay asap!

The three Pick n Pay packs

  • Blind pack - R59.99. One player, one mini rugby ball and one kicking tee, in a sealed foil packet. You cannot see which player is inside.
  • Blister pack - R99.99. One player you can see through the plastic, plus a ball, a kicking tee and a white goal post with suction-cup feet. The only way to get a goal post.
  • Spare balls - R24.99. Two mini rugby balls and a kicking tee, no player. Useful, because the balls roll under the couch.

The full 15 player squad

There are 16 figures: the 15-man starting team in jerseys 1 to 15, plus a Coach - the only one with COACH on his jersey instead of a number. Pick n Pay does not print a checklist or any player names, only the jersey numbers. But each figure is clearly drawn on the Springbok who wears that number - skin tone, hair and beard - so this is who they are:

  • Forwards: 1 Ox Nche, 2 Malcolm Marx, 3 Thomas du Toit, 4 Eben Etzebeth, 5 RG Snyman (the blond curls), 6 Siya Kolisi, 7 Pieter-Steph du Toit (the blond on the pack), 8 Jasper Wiese.
  • Backs: 9 Cobus Reinach, 10 Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, 11 Makazole Mapimpi, 12 Damian de Allende, 13 Jesse Kriel, 14 Cheslin Kolbe, 15 Damian Willemse.
  • Coach: Rassie Erasmus - the figure in the R99.99 blister pack.

The names are our match, not Pick n Pay's - if you think a figure is someone else, the jersey number is what counts. The checklist also has the goal post, the ball and the tee.

What the full squad costs in blind packs

If all 16 figures are packed in equal numbers, you would expect to open about 54 blind packs to get every one. At R59.99 a pack that is roughly R3,250 - for 16 figures, and close to 40 doubles.

The pain is at the end. The first 13 different players take about 25 packs on average. The last 3 take around 29 more, because by then nearly every packet you open is a player you already have. That is where the doubles pile up and the kids keep asking for "just one more".

How to finish the squad without the gamble

  • Buy the exact player you need. We sell single Springbok rugby fidget spinners for R69.99 each - a little more than a blind pack, but you choose the player, so there are no doubles and no risk. Delivery anywhere in South Africa to a PUDO locker.
  • Check the blister packs. At R99.99 you pay R40 more than a blind pack, but you can see the player and you get the goal post too.
  • Swap with friends. Every rugby-mad school has a pile of doubles. Pick n Pay itself says to swap your doubles.
  • Sell us your doubles. We pay R20 for each spare player in good condition. You pay the postage to send them to us (about R59 to a PUDO locker), so we take sell offers from R100 - collect your spares and send one parcel.

Keeping them playable

The parts that go missing are the ball and the tee, not the player. Keep each figure's ball and tee in a small zip bag, and stand the goal post on a smooth surface such as a table or a window - the suction cups do not grip carpet. A figure that still spins freely, with no scuffs on the jersey number, is the one other collectors want.
