Pick n Pay Stikeez: both series, the full lists and how to complete them

Pick n Pay Stikeez were the little plastic figures that ended up stuck to fridges, windows and school desks all over South Africa in 2015, and came back for a second series, Creatures of the Deep, in 2016. Each series has 24 Stikeez. Both are long gone from the tills, so if you are still finishing a set - or found an old tub of them - this guide covers both lists.

What Stikeez are

Stikeez are small plastic toys designed to stick to flat surfaces and make a popping sound when you pull them off - which is most of the appeal for younger kids. In the first 2015 promotion, Pick n Pay gave out one Stikeez for every R150 spent, and there were 24 to collect. Pick n Pay even released a free phone game, Rise of the Stikeez, starring the characters.

A warning about lists you find online

The Stikeez name has been used for other ranges too, and fan wikis often mix those up with the South African ones. Names, numbers and even the number of figures in a series can be different. If a list does not match the Stikeez in your hand, trust Pick n Pay's own material and the figures themselves, not the wiki. Our lists are built from the South African series only.

Series 1: the original Stikeez (2015)

The first series has 24 Stikeez in four groups - monster, farm, ocean and jungle - so every figure has a group of friends to be stuck up next to. They include Moody, Igor, Cheezz, Fido, Puffy, Kittie, Bunny, Papsy, Cow, Piggy, Loggy, Sharky and Guinny. Series 2: Creatures of the Deep (2016)

The second series went under the sea: 24 sea creatures, including Dr. O, Wok, Byte, Boo, Grumpa, Bub and Loxy. This time six are specials with their own finish:

Glow in the Dark - #18 Hammer and #24 Snap. These are the two we see least often.
Pearl Effect - #15 Minx and #16 Luna.
Glitter - #8 Cee Cee and #9 Jab Jab.

If you have a mixed tub of both series, be careful: series 1 has its own ocean group, so a sea creature is not automatically from series 2. A glow, pearl or glitter finish is a giveaway; for the rest, compare against the pictures on the two lists.

Why every family ended up with doubles

If all 24 Stikeez in a series were equally likely, you would expect to open about 91 to collect the lot. At the 2015 rate of one per R150, that is roughly R13,600 of shopping for one series. The first 19 different figures come in about 36 Stikeez; the last 5 take around 55 more, because by then nearly everything you open is a double. For Creatures of the Deep, the six specials make the tail longer still. Collecting both series means doing that twice - which is why so many houses still have a jar of spares.

Finishing a Stikeez set today

Sort and tick off. Separate the two series, then check each figure against our numbered lists. The names are easy to confuse across series, so go by the picture.
Ask around. Stikeez were everywhere, and many families have a tub they would happily hand over. Older cousins are a good bet.
Buy the ones you need. We sell single Stikeez when we have them and deliver across South Africa to PUDO lockers. Stock of sets this old comes and goes, so check the list for what is in right now.
Sell us your spares. We buy Stikeez from both series. You pay the postage to send them to us (about R49 to a PUDO locker), so we take sell offers from R100 - gather all your doubles into one parcel.

Cleaning old Stikeez

Stikeez that have spent years in a toy box pick up dust and lose their grip. A gentle wash in lukewarm soapy water, then air-drying, usually brings them back. Avoid hot water and harsh cleaners, which can damage the plastic and dull the glitter and pearl finishes.
