Panini Fortnite Series 3 Cards: Full Guide and Hardest Cards

Panini Fortnite Series 3 is the 2021 trading card set that a lot of South African kids collected long after it came out - and it has now sold out across the country. That makes it a set you finish with singles and swaps rather than packets, so it helps to know exactly what is in it and which cards are the hard ones.

What is in the set

Our checklist has 332 cards plus the collector's album, 333 items in all. The cards are not split into a base set and inserts the way football cards are. Instead, each card belongs to a type, and the type tells you roughly what kind of card it is:

Epic Outfit - 100 cards, the biggest group in the set.
Rare Outfit - 75 cards.
Harvesting Tool - 65 cards, numbered with an H in front (H32 Harvester, H44 Power Grip and so on), so do not mix them up with the plain numbers.
Wrap - 35 cards.
Uncommon Outfit - 25 cards.
Legendary Outfit - 23 cards.
Frozen Outfit - 9 cards, the smallest group.

Because the Harvesting Tools have their own numbering, a card list that only runs from 1 upwards will look like it is missing 65 cards. When you tick off what you have, keep the H numbers in a separate column.

The cards that are hardest to find

The Frozen Outfit cards are the ones collectors struggle with most. In our own catalogue they are the scarcest cards in the set - numbers such as 224 Frozen Love Ranger, 225 Frozen Raven, 226 Frozen Red Knight and 228 Frozen Fishstick. With only nine of them in the set, they turn up far less often in trades than the Epic and Rare outfits, and they are usually the last gap in a nearly complete album.

The Legendary Outfits are the next group to watch. They are not as scarce as the Frozen cards, but there are only 23 of them against 100 Epics, so you will see fewer of them in any pile of swaps.

Why packets are no longer the answer

In South Africa, Series 3 was sold in 4-card packets - Toys R Us listed them at R39.90 in April 2024, and they were already out of stock then. By September 2026 we could not find new packets anywhere in the country. That changes the maths completely: when there are no packets to open, the only way to get the cards you are missing is to swap for them or buy them as singles.

Even when packets were on the shelf, four cards at a time made finishing a 332-card set slow and expensive, because the more cards you already have, the more of every new packet is doubles. Buying singles skips that problem - you pay only for the cards you actually need.

How to finish your Series 3 set

Count what you have. Sort your cards by type, then by number, and write down the gaps. Keep the H-numbered Harvesting Tools separate.
Swap your doubles first. Friends and siblings who collected Fortnite are the cheapest source. Epic and Rare doubles are the easiest to trade because everyone has gaps there.

Leave the Frozen cards for last - but do not leave them too late. They are the cards least likely to come your way in a swap, so if you see one you need, it is worth grabbing.

Selling your spare Fortnite cards

If your child has moved on from Fortnite, or you have a shoebox of doubles, those cards are exactly what other collectors are looking for now that the packets are gone. Looking after the cards you keep

Fortnite cards are thin and the corners mark easily. Keep them in the album or in penny sleeves, store them flat and away from sunlight, and never put an elastic band around a stack - it dents the edges of the top and bottom cards.
