Match Attax 2015/16 Premier League Checklist Guide

Topps Match Attax Premier League 2015/16 is the set from the season Leicester City won the league. It runs to 519 cards across all 20 clubs. It is long gone from the shops, so this guide covers what is in it, which cards are hard to find now, and how to finish it a decade later.

What is in the set

The bulk of the set is 340 base cards - the squads of the 20 clubs that season. On top of those come 179 special cards:

Man of the Match - 60 cards, the biggest subset.
Live Code - 32 cards.
Duo, Foil and Away Kit - 20 cards each.
Cult Heroes - 16 cards numbered H1 to H16, featuring former favourites such as Freddie Ljungberg, Philippe Albert and Matt Le Tissier.
Tactic - 6 cards.
100 Club - 5 cards, numbered 461 to 465: Petr Cech, Vincent Kompany, Eden Hazard, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy.

The chase cards

On our own rarity scale, the 100 Club cards are the scarcest in the set, with the Cult Heroes close behind. That scale reflects how rarely we see them come in, not an official print run - Topps does not publish those. Five 100 Club cards in a set of 519 were never going to be easy, and ten years on, clean copies of any card from a game that was made to be played with are harder to come by.

The Jamie Vardy 100 Club card has extra appeal for this particular season: Vardy scored in 11 Premier League matches in a row that autumn, a league record, on the way to Leicester's title.

Why finishing it from packets was so hard

If every one of the 519 cards had been equally likely, a collector would have needed to open about 3,550 cards on average to see every one - nearly seven times the size of the set. The first 80% (415 different cards) takes only about 830 of those. The last 20% takes around 2,700, because by then almost every card is a double. Scarcer subsets like the 100 Club push that number higher still.

Today there are no new packets to open at all, so that maths is only a reminder of why so many binders from 2015 have gaps. Finishing the set now means swapping or buying singles.

Finishing it in 2026

Start with what you have. Dig out the old binder or tin, sort by number, and work out exactly what is missing before you buy anything.
Base set first. 340 base cards is a real achievement on its own. Treat the subsets as a second stage.
Check condition. Cards from this era have often been through a lot. Look for creases, soft corners and scuffed foil, and keep the best copy of each in a sleeve.
Buy by number. Players appear in more than one subset, so the number is what matters. Our checklist shows which singles we have in, and we deliver to PUDO lockers across South Africa. At the time of writing we have around 60 singles from this set in stock, from R25 to R35.
